Payne Condenser Question

I've been using my A/C a lot lately because of a serious heat wave we are suffering here in SoCal. I'm wondering should I be doing any sort of maintenance to my condenser unit? I have a Payne High Efficiency unit for my home's central air. I blow out the debris with a leaf blower when I do my lawn, but should I be oiling a fan or something?

Most condenser fans are oiless and have sealed bearings. Higher than seasonal temps put a real load on your system. Be sure your air handlers filter(s) are in good order. Be sure your air handler's AC evaporator is draining the condensate water out of it properly....

Just do as you have been doing and garden hose spray the condenser's cooling fins every season. If you notice your cooling system is loosing ground like during normal summer temps, ( not cooling as well as it used to) it may be time for a pro to check your complete system for refrigerant charge levels and overall performance levels. jmo

Shut unit off while mowing. The fins get clogged.AC guys spray a cleaner on fins, let it soak and hose clean every year.Keep clean air return filters in and A- coils must be clean in air handler to run sufficiently.
