I was wondering will the peel n stick vinyl, like you find at Home Depot and Lowes stick to concrete.
Thanks for any tips or information.

Every peel and stick tile that I have ever seen always shrinks after being installed, and leaves you with nasty gaps between the tile. For anything to stick to concrete, the concrete must be clean, dust, and oil free, not to mention that it must be very smooth. I suggest that you consider one of the other products that is specifically made for concrete use. If you do a search, you will find more reading on the topic than you will have time to do in a week. It has been widely discussed in the past, and everyone has their own favorite method for covering concrete. Personally, I like clear sealer on concrete, and not too smooth a finish. The last thing that I want to be worrying about in the garage is falling on a slippery surface.

Years ago I did peel-n-stick tile in the enclosed back porch of my house. Heck, it hasn't held up there and I have to get around to replacing it. I cannot imagine it holding up for very long in a garage.

I have a small shop in the back section of my pole building approx. 8'X30' that I covered with peel and stick five years ago Still holding up quite well. I did trowel mastic down first. Make sure you acclimate the tile to your room for a day or so befor you lay it. Hope this helps. I only wish I would have staggered black and grey tiles. It is all grey.

I agree with what has been said above, just go with VCT instead of peel&stick. I'm only using peel&stick in my loft area. I'm sure it'll start to peel and change size on concrete.

That makes all the difference... Any reason you used a peel-n-stick over convential VCT if you were going to use the mastic anyway?

I had already bought the peel&stick when a tile guy I know told me to use the mastic. As I said it's holding up pretty good.

I'm convinced that peel & stick was created for low dollar rental properties and TV shows like "Flip this House" and "Trading Spaces". They aren't a good choice if want to install the floor once and want a quality product at the end.
