Pegboard or Slatwall?

I'm wanting to do the upper half of my garage in either slatwall or pegboard all the way around. Does anyone have a strong opinion one way or the other? Any pics of a setup similar to this would be awesome too!

nickvandee,
No strong opinion, I have both.
Ryno's correct IMO; pegboard is cheaper, and slatwall looks more finished.

Pegboard on the left wall:

And a few slatwall shots:

slat wall all the way, a lot stronger than peg board had peg board pull thru all the time never had slat wall break yet ( we have it in our store and i have it in my garage also, if you need stronger slat wall they make a metal chanel to go in the slots and with all the store closings you should be able to find some rather cheap

my slat wall in the garage

E46M3, what kind of non-gladiator attachments do you have on your gladiator walls? Like the yellow bins I see and the black metal tool organizer?

Where did you get all your gladiator hooks.. they just cost a fortune.. they are very sturdy but I can't justify spending $7-12 to hang one drill etc.

PoorOwner,
The yellow bins are non Gladiator organizers that I had in my basement. I have 6 Gladiator wall mounted cabinets that came with mounting brackets so you could mount the wall units on the slat wall gear track. I screwed my cabinets directly into the studs, so I had the brackets left over. I repurposed the brackets, screwing a piece of finish wood trim over the brackets and attached the yellow bins to the wood trim.
The metal tool organizers are Gladiator, and came free with my order for some reason. I'm not quite sure what to do with them, as you can tell by the photo - they're not in use... but they were free.
As indicated in another thread,"Gladiator Cabinets on Clearance at Lowes," this stuff goes on sale about every three months at both Lowes and Sears. I knew what I wanted, and because my build took 6 months to complete, I just waited. One Sunday, about 75% of what I wanted to order from Gladiator was marked at 50% off or more, and I bought in bulk.
I think non gladiator slatwall attachments work, I've been looking for retail fixtures used in store display slatwalls as a cheaper alternative.
Best of luck in your hunt poorowner...
Cheers,
