I'm finally setting up a pegboard in my garage and I would like to know the recommended distance from back of the board to the drywall I'm mounting to I should make the space? I know a while back 5+ years ago I saw a mounting kit just for pegboard that came with tapping screws and black plastic spacers you put the screws through. I can no longer find this mounting kit.

thanks GJ

I just run furring strips on the wall first, then screw the pegboard to the furring. No muss, no fuss, no small parts to hold in place, etc, etc.

I just did a small pegboard for my sons room this past weekend. It will be mounted above his changing table and have a few baskets for diapers/wipes etc. Granted this is a fancy version (filled nail holes, angle cuts etc) since it will be in the house I use the same concept in my garage (1x2 pine furring strips). I am going to paint this one too.
