Pegboard storage ideas

Friday and Saturday I was at a trade show in Chicago and MSC had a HUGE booth setup. They had a nice section of Kennedy tool boxes....They also had some pegboard organizers from Kennedy there too....top quality this might be the way I will go instead of making everything out of wood for those things that would be put on the pegboard like my screwdrivers and such

It's nice stuff, but man's that's expensive. If you like it, go for it, but I'll stick with my cheap hooks and blocks.

Yep, a bit on the expensive side. But I really like the looks of those screwdriver holders. The standard pegboard setup with those rings only works for regular sized screwdrivers - too short or too narrow and they either tip over or fall through. The ones here look like they would work a lot better.

I've made a couple of custom hanging wood blocks to hold certain odd shaped tools. Use 1x or 2x stock, drill,cut,file,etc. the shapes needed to insert the tool(s). Chamfer the top back edge of the wood block, and insert 2 "L" hooks into the back, spacing them to insert into the pegboard. Predrill holes for the hooks about 1/8" below the chamfered edge. The hooks will need to be inserted almost the full depth, leaving enough length to stick through the pegbord, with the hooks pointing "up". The chamfer allows you to insert the hooks and hang the block. This might be difficult to understand - I tried to find a link for the instructions and was unsuccesful.
