I recently acquired this pair of pliers in a a box lot. what's interesting is that the jaws are bent, not showing any signs of a previous owner heating them up.

Were these made this way or modified?

I have a pair or two of slip-joint bent-nose pliers (somewhere). Both looked to have been manufactured that way.
