Penlight with Laser - Looking for Recommendations

At the day job, I carry a pen light for use in basements of homes that are under construction. The small types that take (2) AAA batteries. I have a holster on my belt to carry it.

I want to upgrade to a similar light but with an integral laser. Very helpful in pointing out exterior issues to trades that are high up.

I found this Klein, which appears like a candidate but alas no holster. Larger in diameter than my current pen light so not sure if my existing holster would work.

I found this Milwaukee, but also no holster. It is smaller in diameter than the Klein so my existing holster should work. Reviews don't seem very solid on this one though.

What do the GJ folks recommend? Battery or rechargeable via USB are both acceptable to me.

I use a streamlight stylus for a penlight, but no laser, so I can't help there.

If it matters to you, both of those lights use micro USB, which I refuse to buy anything with anymore. Unfortunately, usb c hasn't taken over in the flashlight space, though

What is the hate for micro USB?

I don't have or have use for the laser, but the Arkfeld is on my list of wants whenever I get some spare cash.
There are several models, not all of them have a laser.

Hmmm... I see they are on sale on amazon right now.

They look neat, but yet another proprietary charger. There's just no need for it

I thought they had usb c as a backup charge method, but it doesn't look like they do.
Thats probably a deal breaker for me.

I have a couple WML with magnetic charge connectors, they're neat but they also have batteries that can be removed.

The Milwaukee had me with the "bite zone" :ROFLMAO:

But like what was said before, i hate micro USB ports...
Actually, the rubber grip on the end is quite handy.

I’ve held the penlight in my mouth many times when both hands were engaged. Sounds weird but it works.

Check out olight arkfeld flat. Light/laser/uv light.
+1 I have an older model without the UV and I use it every day. Exactly what I need for work. There are 2 guys on my team that liked it so much they both bought the exact same model for themselves, but with UV. The new ones with the UV are bigger though and I like my smaller version more. I have a separate UV light at work for when I need it, which isn't too often.

Another vote for the O light Arkfeld, I love mine (Pro UV version). The magnetic charging port has grown to be one of my favourite things, I also have a Pre-Run headlamp, I use them all day everyday and it just stands up better than any USB plug in nonsense and not as fiddly.

However It's a bit bulkier than a regular pen light but it does have a nice pocket clip and the magnetic charger port doubles up as a mag mount, I got 30% off on the official website 👍

I also love the O-light Arkfeld Pro. The magnetic charger works well. The only drawback is the very wide beam. I wish it was just slightly more focused.

Do you mean perun? I have 1 of those too (Perun 2). Take that with me on night walks with the wife, but I don't use the headband.

Yep, that sounds about right 😂

It's been a great headlamp for me, I would replace it with another in a heartbeat if I ever break or lose it, not the most powerful but solid and reliable in a compact size 👍

The Olight Arkfeld looks interesting but doesn't have a holster for a belt.

Yes I see it has a clip but those are annoying and I don't want it in my pocket. As it is I have an Otterbox on my belt for my iPhone, a tape measure clipped on my belt, and my penlight flashlight using a holster from a long gone Mini Maglight

Interesting...

I already have 2 Apple lightning cords in my car - one for the iPhone and the other for the iPad.

What value is the "UV Light"?

Can't you just clip it to your belt?

That’s a pan in the ***. Top of jeans overhang top of belt so one has to use hand #1 to hold jeans out of way while hand #2 coaxes clip onto the belt.

The open holster allows one hand slide into position, thus it’s part of the spec.

I’m right handed. So tape measure is on right side around front pocket area. Then the phone on my right side. Then the flash light just past the phone not quite at right rear pocket. Utility belt if you will.

So reaching around with my left hand to position the clip on won’t work for me.
