Penn Bench Vise Info

All, I was at a swap meet today and someone had a PENN bench vise, looked to be a 5 inch non swivel base, I can not seen to find and info on that MFG or what it might be worth, he wants 80.00 for it and its in OK condition, does any one have a info on this vise, thanks for the help, Like i need another vise, yikes.. mike

Orchid: i own one and i think i remember only one other Penn vise in the vise thread and it was several years ago. mine is a 5.5 incher and non swivel and built like a brick &)*)* house. as i recall it was a "light" duty vise made by I think Prentiss, but it's been awhile so i'll watch and see what others say.

by the way i wouldn't sell mine for $80 so if it's in decent shape i'd probably buy the one you found because they are not that common. Mine is about 70 pounds so that one should keep all your smaller Wilton's in line.

Hi, Thanks for the info, That looks just like it, I will look into it tomorrow and see if the guy still has it and if i can get it cheaper : -) :D I dont know about keeping my wiltons in line because I have a 8 inch tradesman that throws his weight around at 110 pounds, he's a monster.. :bowdown:

Hi Tejaas, I did save him, found the housing on ebay 40.00 plus shipping. he has a whole new life waiting to put the squeeze on something,
