My garage walls, door, and ceiling are fully insulated.
There are plantation shutters covering the window.
The garage door faces the sun in the morning, and the window faces the sun in the afternoon.
The garage is 20' x 23' and 14.5' tall at the highest point.
I am looking at a Samsung 24k WindFree with a heat pump.
I am in Southern California, and I'm a big fan of my air conditioning.
Some say that 24k is overkill, but I don't think so for what I want.

Thoughts?"

I'd have no problem installing an inverter 24k in that space. It will throttle back as needed.

You could probably go smaller, too

A 12k will walk away with that well insulated space. It is substantially more efficient than a 24.

Given your location you probably don’t have much humidity there so I wouldn’t worry as much about oversizing a unit in a dry climate. I have an 18K unit in a foam insulated 700 sq ft metal blg and it’s about as close to perfect as I could ask for in temps up to 109* this summer. I couldn’t always get the temperature as low as I’d like but 80* @ 36% feels pretty damn good when “feels like” temps are in the one teens. If my OH door was insulated I know that would help but really I’m happy as is.
