hi gearheads. I have an older Penske automotive k mart jack I purchased as a young man. It was my first jack. It’s in great shape but now doesn’t lift well. I can’t seem to find any information on it at all. I don’t have the manual. It’s a part # 827642-117. 3 ton , photo attached. I am looking for a rebuild kit.
Any help is appreciated.

It likely just needs a bleed and hydraulic oil refill. Check YT for a few videos and see if the refresh helps.
If that doesn't solve it, then you may need to dig a bit deeper, but that usually works.

As already said: refill hydraulic oil. Usually there is a rubber plug in top of the cylinder. Remove and refill with the jack in lowered position.
Since the cylinder being hidden in Low position, there could be a screw to be removed near the pump plunger. At least there will be two screws.
Most likely the smaller one will be springloaded. That's the valve. Don't loose the steelball bottom of that boss.

The other one then is the refill. Top it up with the jack in lowest position.

Finally operate the jack for a couple of times without load.

Thanks for the replies. There are three screws and a bolt at the back of the block and 2 do not adjust stickers, don’t know which screws. I pulled the rubber plug and followed the bleed process and added jack oil through the rubber plug. No luck. I placed it on some cardboard looking for a leak but I don’t think it has one.

Regarding rubber plug vs screws, it's either or. As your jack has the plug there is no need touching the screws for refill.

Have you been able refilling some oil? Just two drops or was it a notable quantity? Filled until it came out again?

It did not take that much oil but it did take some. Performance did not improve afterward. I think I need to understand what’s going on inside to bleed it properly. But I followed the you tube instructions. Maybe I should do a drain and refill. But to me it seems like some internal leak by.

I think that Lazzars is going to be a good resource moving forward. I was hoping to find a place like that. Close to me too. Thanks!
