Many (most ?) of the < $200 hand held scan tools that claim they can do ABS and air bags diagnostic are very hit and miss. I just found out that Actron was owned by Bosch who is a worldwide leader in EFI, ABS and air bag control modules. I was wondering if that knowledge got carried over into the Actron product line ?

I have the Matco md1400 which is exact same as actron cp9580a. It does have abs and srs coverage for domestic and Asian vehicles. I bought mine brand new off eBay. It says it covers up to 2010 per Matco's website, but mine was burned in 2013 and has worked on 2012 Nissan Frontier, 1998 GMC Sierra, 2006 jeep Cherokee and 2007 Chevy trailblazer. I paid $65 from this seller on eBay and have been extremely pleased. It is the exact same as the Bosch and actron. It is also updatable and comes with usb cable. http://m.ebay.com/itm/Matco-Tools-MD1400-Oracle-CodeConnect-Scan-Tool-/291708495285?nav=SEARCH

I don't know if Matco re-markets the CP9680.

From what I can see, the big difference between the CP9580 and CP9680 is a couple of extra years of "coverage" (2010 vs 2013). Probably doesn't mean much for engine/powertrain related things. It could mean a lot of ABS and air bag

Pretty darn good price ! It appears that Matco is no longer re-selling the Actron line.
