...what did they expect putting 400 pounds of force on a 3/8 inch ratchet with a 3' cheater tube

It's been discussed before, and that is clearly a warranty issue. A 3/8" ratchet is supposed to have the strength and durability of a 3/4" ratchet.

My view is if you can get a pipe on something, you have room to move up to 1/2" or 3/4" tools. Don't start a job unless you have the right tool to complete the job.

I've not seen many 3/8 take the abuse a 3/4 will
I am guilty of using a breaker on my 1/2" when my lugs are baked to the threads
I need the extra length but nothing extreme

My pet peeve is at tool auctions where there'll be a flat of stuff you want, then the caller will root around in the bin and find a Blue Point socket in it and go SNAP-ON! and the crowd goes nuts and bids 70$ for a box of 15 sockets, one of which was Blue Point. I know that's their job to earn as much money as they can at the auction but... It kinda ***** the fun out when there's no chance to win the other stuff in the box because of a stupid not even Snap-On tool.

Four goes into twelve three times so that means 12 point drives work on square heads too. Seeing as you didn't get those 8 point sockets.

Everyone thinks that, but not true. Very few 12 pts will properly fit square head nuts bolts and pipe plugs. The angle at the corners of a square is 90° but the angle inside of a 12 pt socket (its a double hex actually) is 120°, but worst of all, the dimension across the points of a square is not the same as across the appropriate points of the 12 pt socket. They just don't match up very well. That is why they make 8 pt sockets (and even 4 pt sockets in a few rare instances).

The banned OP keeps making cameo appearances, but I agree this should be locked down. The OP only started it to stir things up, just like all his alter egos.

Nothing wrong with selling an $80 tool for $180. If people are dumb enough to pay his price more power to him.

Our auto mechanics teacher had a good saying for this " there's an *** for every seat ",,, I still use it today it's one of my favorites. As far as what the OP posted only thing I hate is not being able to find the right size tool ( socket, drill bit, hole saw, tap, die) that you need but then again that's completely out of most any one's control :dunno:
