PEX for oil

I would like to buy oil in 30 or 55 gal drums to save money and time and then use gravity to help bring it to where I need it. I will be storing the drums in the loft area which is above my 14' ceiling. I have some extra 3/4" PEX that I can use which would lessen any fittings, etc. I would connect it to the drum which would be laying horizontally and then use a ball valve down on the wall in the shop. Of course I would need some type of breather to allow air into the drum.

I have tried to find whether PEX would handle constant contact with motor oil. I have not found any definitive answer so I thought I would contact the experts here to see whether anyone knows for sure and/or has experience of using PEX for oil delivery.

Thoughts anyone?

I just copied your post and sent it to PEX. They said that they would get back to me by the next business day.
