This is more for my house then my garage... hope y'all don't mind! I will be installing a new filter system for the well this weekend, when those who installed my softener used PEX pipe, I was planning on doing the same for this new filter but was wondering if anyone who's an expert could suggest fittings? I gotta do a few 90* turns and am wondering if I need to buy one of these million dollar fitting tools or if there is an alternate solution... thanks!

Dude, the sharkbite brand pex copper ring crimper for 1/2" and 3/4" pex is less than 60$ at home depot and works VERY well. Super easy. Almost easier than the push on sharkbite fittings.

I would have no problems using pex for the softener/filter plumbing. Note that it is hard to make it look as nice as pretty (and expensive) copper. Also, with well water, if you buy the white pex you may experience iron staining showing through the pex so choose blue.

This pex pipe is a game changer for the plumbing industry. True, not as pretty as copper pipe, but sooo much easier to use.

You wont even need elbos, the pipe can be bent. Buy a good crimper and be set for life.

I'm sure the pro's will chime in, but for a DIY'er, this stuff is great to work with.

Sharkbite push fittings will add up to the cost of a crimper quickly and I have seen them leak in certain situations. Just buy or borrow a crimper.
