Pex question

I’m testing my pex understanding. If I have a short run of pex between two sharkbite fittings, does it matter which (A, B, or C)? I’m generally of the understanding that they are all the same outside dimension.

The longer runs will be Pex A to maximize flow. But I’ve got some pieces of B that I’d like to use. Any reason not to?

Many thanks.

I‘ve got a 90 degree bend in 2” pvc deep in a concrete slab. It then exits the slab. I’m going to put one leg into the sharbite fitting and put it down the hole, and mate it with the other leg. It’s a hard 90. This is the best avenue to get h20 into the cabin.

Thanks all.

So you are trying to put PEX through the PVC, using PVC as a conduit?

If its 3/4" PEX I think you should be able to get it to follow around the bend of the 2" PVC 90. Just pre-bend/shape the PEX a little with your hands so it naturally follows the PVC bend and makes the corner.

Is it a dwv 90, hope so, you could also heat the pex up and make more friendly, or get a smaller cheater peace of pipe , attach it to the 3/4" and work the two thru, good luck

Yes. We put the 2” pvc through the forms as a future route for the water line. But used a sharp pressure 90 when it should have been a sweep. If my geometry is right, 3/4“ pex almost meets specs for a bend inside a 2” pvc but not quite. I may try it anyway.

But end of the day, I need it to be reliable and not kink. Putting the sharkbite 90 down the hole and pushing the other leg seems solid.

Thanks all.

Pressurizing the pvc is an option. But I’m not 100% sure the guy did it correctly. Pex and sharkbite seems like a solid solution.

I’ll put a vault next to the he slab so I can undo the shark bite from the outside, the same way it was inserted. Just a matter of getting some pvc pipe that is just larger than the pex to push the little ring down. With 2” pvc and 1” pex, should be plenty of room. I may go ahead and set it up for the next guy. Hoping for 20+ year service life.
