Pex Tubing Brand/Type???

Pole Barn structure is almost done, so now it's time to start getting ready for preparing the floor with a moisture barrier and 2" of XPS. Does it really matter what type/brand of Pex tubing I get for my in-floor heating?

One thing that you have to careful of with that stuff is to make sure that the I.D. is smaller than the O.D. or else you end up with the hole on the outside.

The “pex” for radiant floor heat is different (read “more expensive”)(+50%) then your standard “pex”. I believe that it is something to do with oxygen permeability, but I am no expert, even the Menards ad lists them seperatly.

Like any forum, you have both smart a$$es, and dumb a$$es posting.(smart good, dumb potentially dangerous)
Rather than getting bad info from dumb people, for basic questions you might try a Google search first.

I think I just need a barrier pex to prevent oxygen from getting into my system. I like to ask questions on here, because what I'm doing has probably been done by somebody on here. I'm thinking I need PEX-B tubing for my infloor closed loop system.

I'm looking at RHT Pex on blueridgecompany.com, price is $236.90 per 900ft roll and I will need 2 rolls for my barn.

I just put my floor in a 24x40 poll barn and put 1 1/2 pex in, whats my next step for getting this hooked up with the water heater. I looked at the boiler and that route is too much $$$

Have Rehau here at home. All the manifolds from them as well. Taco zone valves, controllers, outdoor reset.

I believe some guys are using on-demand hot water heaters, you don't need alot of BTUs to heat the water upto 60-70 degrees.

it was $0.32 a foot @ menards I could have ordered it for less but I needed it right away
