PEX wrap for slab penetration?

I will be running some PEX water supply lines under a new slab and then up through the slab into a new wall. Reading the code book says that PEX needs to be protected from abrasion when penetrating concrete in this manner, but it does really state with what.

I have done some searching and have seen foam wrap with tape, foam sleeves, and IPS 83400 Pipe Sleeving. For those who have done this what did you use?

I do plan to run pre-insulted PEX for the two hot water lines, and just regular PEX for the cold.

Electric conduit. 1/2 "tubes in 3/4" conduit. Worked well and the 90s prevent kinking

Being i'm in Canada and your in California I'm sure the code is similar. Up here anything is good for protection such as another larger piece of poly pipe, PVC pipe, electrical tape just GOD forbid your protective sleeve doesn't contain lead

If we need to possibly have access to replace or upgrade the piping in the future, large conduit non metallic, if not then just foam pipe insulation taped together really well even the long seams.

Ayuh,.... 'round here, We just use short stubs of PVC conduit, or plumbin' pipe,.....

Thanks guys. I think I will go with PVC conduit and thread the PEX through it.

They use a little plastic box here. Tubes come up through the box and concrete is poured right to the edge of the box.

I put mine thru PVC electrical sweeps or 90 bends if you will. What happens if you just bring the pex thru the slab on its on?
