I picked the Pexto 622 bead roller shown below complete with 8 sets of rolls last year and am just now getting around to setting it up and using it. The person I bought it from said he purchased it with the intention of building antique reproduction lighting but never used it; and it does appear to be unused. I downloaded the instruction sheet and parts list from the R-W Pexto website which told me that my machine is complete and undamaged but not much more. I set it up with a 1/4 single bead roll and freehand rolled the 3 six inch long beads pictured below. I tried a few other rolls, but aside from a 4 inch long 3/4 ogee bead on the edge of a piece of scrap, I couldn't produce anything but more scrap. There are videos of very advanced free hand bead rolling on the internet but I can't find any thing on the basics, like how to set up and use the gauge. I assume that the universal gauge would help me keep my beads straight and parallel to each other. As a first project I'd like to make a 3 stopped bead face plate for radio in my truck scaled down from the 3 bead design on the doors and cab of my truck (last picture). Any one know of a source for very basic info on the 622 and its use "bead rolling for dummies" as it were?
