I'm a big fan of Pferd files. I see they offer abrasives like flap discs and cut off wheels, but reviews are limited. Does anyone have experience with them?

Great products. Nice abrasive chopsaw blades if you still use one. Grinding discs are a bit nicer than middle of the road. Similiar to SAIT, quality wise.

I still prefer high end ceramic or zirconium from Norton or 3M depending on what is being ground.

Some of the very best... been using the flap disc and cutting wheels for a couple years now. Expensive, but I shop for deals.

Safer cutting with .045" disc, and much longer performance on the flap wheels.

I like their offerings of flap wheels and grinding disks. They last the whole way through without glazing usually. We get them at work. My favorite wheels are Walter, but these are a close second.

Well to me they and Walter are the world's best abrasive suppliers. Their cut off wheels are so much better than anybody else's it's a joke. If you wonder why they have a horse on all of their products Pferd means horse in German.

I tried Pferd cutting discs a couple years ago and never looked back. Even though they cost more than the others they are actually cheaper when you take into account how long they last. Just as an experiment I was cutting all the way around a 16" pipe, 1/4" thick. I started with a PFX and got between 1/4 and 1/3 of the way around and it was gone. Put on a Pferd and finished the rest with 1 disc. I have never had a Pferd explode either, not sure if they will but I am guessing not.

I agree Pferd is often cheaper in the long run. You get more work done per disc, file or whatever.
