Phase Converter Question

i've been assembling the components for my rotary phase converter project. Have read a fair amount and visited with three different people who have experience. As of now I have a 15 hp three phase motor. It was wired for 480 but using the diagram I re-wired to low voltage 208-230(?). Also have a converter package from NYC. I ordered the 15 horse version but the front panel says 20 horse. They had trouble delivering in a timely manner, sent me a tracking number which didn't move for 6 days, until I sent him an email at which time it moved the next day. I'd guess they shipped what was ready? Now to the question. Wire going into the motor is 10 ga I believe. Instructions with the converter panel says 60 amp single phase breaker using 6awg wire, three phase load wire 8awg, and idler Motor wire siae 8awg. I'm concerned about the 10 ga going into the motor. Should it be upgraded or am I over thinking it?

Whats the FLA of the motor?

A 15hp 230v 3phase motor will pull just under 40a, but yours is just idling so could be just over 30a. #10 thhn is good to 35a and wire for motor circuits is sized at 125% of flc.

so yes i would upsize the wire.

The saga continues. Wire is run, fused disconnects where needed, inspection by my friend who's and industrial electrician for big sand/gravel company. WNY who supplied the panel has been no help. I ordered 15 hp panel, the front panel says 20 hp. There was slight internal damage and one component had to be remounted. No problem there but a couple wires were not connected and I inadvertendly displaced a couple more. I've sent them threee messages requesting a wiring diagram with no response. A local friend has a 7.5 hp panel from the same people so I hope to get pictures today and my buddy will look to see if there's something obvious. Worst case scenario I can protest the charge but that's last resort as I just want the thing to work. Oh........the panel kicks on but the motor just hums. Thanks for listenint:)
