i've been assembling the components for my rotary phase converter project. Have read a fair amount and visited with three different people who have experience. As of now I have a 15 hp three phase motor. It was wired for 480 but using the diagram I re-wired to low voltage 208-230(?). Also have a converter package from NYC. I ordered the 15 horse version but the front panel says 20 horse. They had trouble delivering in a timely manner, sent me a tracking number which didn't move for 6 days, until I sent him an email at which time it moved the next day. I'd guess they shipped what was ready? Now to the question. Wire going into the motor is 10 ga I believe. Instructions with the converter panel says 60 amp single phase breaker using 6awg wire, three phase load wire 8awg, and idler Motor wire siae 8awg. I'm concerned about the 10 ga going into the motor. Should it be upgraded or am I over thinking it?
