I'm considering either the Phoenix PWC2950A or the Atlas TC289LH
Any one have experience with either of these machines?

Phoenix vs Atlas tire changer

I used an Atlas a few times. Nothing special pretty basic, the balancer however didn't seem to get me good results and I tried a few times, could have been that machine itself though, probably wasn't calibrated properly.

I called Phoenix and the guy was very helpful and knowledgable about their equipment.
Altas however was no help and knew nothing about their equipment, at least as far as the harder than normal questions I asked.
Phoenix is $750 cheaper for the combo set and looks to be a better quality unit.
Soon as I get my priorities in order and figure out the financing, I'll have the tire changer and balancer I've been wanting in my new garage (when it gets built).
Edit; also the Atlas guy said he never heard of Phoenix. Phoenix might not be as big as Atlas but I would thing you would want to know your competition. Atlas just lost a sale from Phoenix.

I have the Atlas set, no problems. Both handle my 315/30/18 Hoosier R7 tires no problem. I would not use them on super expensive wheels.

Tractor tires are easier to do in the field with a couple of bars. Use the 3 point hitch to put down pressure on the bead (front and rear). If your 3pt doesnt have enough pressure, use the front corner of the loader bucket (you can also put a short piece of 2x4 under it if you want.
Once you've taken care of the bead, use two long bars (48") to work your way around the tire and take the tire off.
Installation is similar... only inflation usually calls for the starter fluid trick
