We were worned the same. we had tons of problems .Our membership posting dropped literally by 30-40% overnight . We brought in A chap, one of the developers from England. he sat in with the control of the admin board for about 6 months(he is still on). He also addressed and edited software as required by admin with explanation to forum members. But within a few months we cleaned it all up. It wasn't easy and there was a **** load of learning. I would say we're 99% cleaned up. There is about 4 of us that do daily testing with two on call. We run two sites in parallel. We perform testing on the test forum with only admin allowances. Then we implement to the running forum. Admin will have to have as many positions available as forum members. Admin, super moderators, moderators, members, troublemakers, band... there are tons of fun times involved.Everyone on vb.org says 5 is a miserable failure... How you guys had any issues?
Now I can get into the trapping of spammers and stopping forum spam and implementing member ratings.
Personally I hated the new revision, but I learned to love the new power without needing to be there.
Do your research and see what's best for you.
It will be interesting to see which way you go.
