So I have a high pressure sodium security light on the front of my shop.I have recently noticed it stays on all the time-day and night.I though at first something-bird ****-was covering the eye,but it is clear. Not being super familiar with the inner workings of these lights,I am wondering what direction I can take to troubleshoot this issue?Ant suggestions?

Switch off and disconnect. Remove the security light and open the "switchgear" part. Remove all dead inects, debris and wash
all inside electrical parts with alcohol and/or destilled water. Inspect for broken/shorted wires. If there is a relay look closely at the contacts, clean and polish with 800 grit highquality paper. Reassemble. Install, test.
At least 30 % chance it is fixed.
Enclose a favorite of mine.

I've had lights get stuck on, and just need power cycled to clear them. I had one that if there was a power outage less than about 10 seconds, always stayed on until the power was shut off to allow it to reset.

We used to have one at our gate and the sensors would only last a few years. The bulbs seemed to last forever. IIRC the sensor sat on top of the fixture and came out with 1/4 turn.
