I can't imagine getting a white floor in anything but a showroom! I don't think I could ever get it clean enough to pass muster in a shop environment.

Even a dirty white floor can make it easier to find dropped things then a grey floor.
I had a neighbor who would put down cheap kitchen sheet goods. He didn't care much about the pattern as long as it was basicly white. When it got too beat up, he would just throw it out and replace.

My floor in my garage is coated with snow white epoxy. The epoxy came from a chemical engineer who developed it for RR Donnelly, the printing company. It is outstanding in my opinion because it reflects soo much light. It isn't too bad to keep clean. I usually just wet the floor with water, and push around a old beach towel with my squeegy. Dont know if it's visible in my avatar. It's been on the floor since 1990 and has held up very well. Every 5 years or so, I buff it with a very fine scotch bride pad on a industrial buffer which makes it look brand new again. The only real complaint I have is that it's slick as ice when it's wet. I know that a pumice in the paint would have helped out the slickness part, but then it also makes it significantly harder to clean with the beach towel/squeegy.

Not a great picture but the best one I could find right now. Had the white floor for about 7 years, I really liked it. Made the garage VERY bright and it was easy to clean.

Used UCoatIt.

I like your lift. How high is your ceiling. Will it fit in 9 foot high ceiling. Who is manufacturer and is it bolted to the floor.

The original ceiling height was 10’8” and with two Corvettes it just fit. In order to be able to raise the ramp higher and have more room above the ramp, I cut out the ceiling and created a trayed ceiling effect with allowed me two feet more of total height. Nine feet would be very difficult unless cars are not tall. Vettes are approximately 49” in height.

The manufacturer WAS one of the original companies Auto Lifters but China steel and manufacturing put them out of business a few years ago. The lift is not bolted to the floor and I have never had an issue of it moving at all. I have since moved to NC and because I was so pleased with the lift I brought it along and repainted it for my new garage.

AutoLifters was acquired by the employees, who now operate it as All American Lifts.

From what I see, I like their designs very much, and hope to buy one when I get off the money and do so. I prefer the sleeve sliding on the outside of the posts, as opposed to the channel shaped posts with an internal sliding sleeve.

I want/need one that can be moved on casters and not mounted.

So did the upper cabinets originally have a soffit above them and you extended that up also? I guess what I am asking...does the tray ceiling go all the way to the wall above the cabinets and did you alter ceiling joist or rafters. I'd love to get a lift and the older I get, it's easy to get down to the floor to do some work, but looks like the losing end of a WWF match when I go to get up.

The tray ceiling was in the house I moved from in NJ. The tray was created in the ceiling just above the outer edges of the lift unit.

The pic with the lift now painted red, white and blue is in a new garage I built after moving to NC. Hope that answers your questions.
