I must have missed one at some point and my dog found it.

some how my buddy (dog) cut an artery in foot yesterday. blood was shooting everywhere. I quickly wrapped up his foot, leg and taped it up tight, and off to the hospital we go. this is what bled through my make shift bandage on the way. the Vet fixed up the artery and stitched him back up, he will be back to normal soon, I been searching the yard trying to find what cut him.

ohh my wow,
glad he's ok...
my GF likes to send mine into the garage to "find daddy"
I read her the riot act, as I can't assure it's remotely safe
so it's just the rare occasion when she has a lapse of sanity... guess it could be monthly..

Wow. Glad the pups going to be OK.

Keep an eye out for glass in the yard. Sometimes after a heavy rain, I see bits of glass sticking out of the ground, exposed by erosion. Its hard to spot unless you see the sun glare off it and is extremely sharp.
Hopefully the blood trail can lead you back to whatever the object is.

Make sure he doesn't pick the stitches out.

My cousin had a Dalmation. Let him out one night to do his thing, dog wandered by dumpster, cut his foot on glass.

Wake up emergency vet for stitches.

One week later he goes with dog to regular vet to get stitches out. Vet said "What stitches - dog chewed them out!"

Good luck with your dog.

Sounds like you did a nice job reacting calmly and effectively. Thanks for the reminder, I'd hate to go through the same ordeal.

Glad to see that you made it to the vet to get your four-legged buddy sewed back up. Now hopefully the seats will clean up.

Glad your pup's ok! Dogs have an amazing knack for getting into harmful things, don't they? I'm on rural acreage, and I still find the most random **** in the woods, let alone around the house.

Now, clean up that crime scene in the backseat before you get pulled over by a LEO and find yourself having to do some 'splainin.

These contractors on our house leave them everywhere. I have picked them up for almost 6 months now. I saved the good stuff and there was so much I was unbelieveable. We filled two coffee cans and a big pail with just the nails, and I kept the good stuff, which was about 15 pounds more.

Jesus. That's an eye opener. Thank you for the PSA! I have to get a big magnet to tow behind the tractor.

Whew, that'll make you think.

As long as your pup is ok now, that's the main thing. Give him a hug and a nice scratch behind the ears, that's the medicine he wants!

I'm glad your pup is OK. Two things I bought were the golf club shaped magnet and the magnetic bar on wheels from HF. It's amazing what makes its way out of the shop and onto the lawn. I've picked up curly, razor sharp swarf 50 feet from the door, in the middle of where the dogs play. Can't be too careful.

Old glass also comes up in the spring with frost heave. Been picking it out of my garden for 25 years.

I had a house & garage roof done in 2003, they took the house down to the sheathing. I had the whole house resided in 2007. In both cases, they did a great clean up. The roofer had a rip-off crew take the roof off and I found 1 scrap of shingle. The siding crew went over everything with a magnetic rake, again, I've maybe found 2 odd nails in the flower beds.

I have a big magnet on a string from an old subwoofer. it picks up or makes a tink when it tries. my kids think its cool and will do it for hours trying to find stuff. go figure my dog stepped on an aluminum nail

Glad he is doing good, my dog ripped part of his pad right on the edge of his paw, he bled a lot also, took him to the vet, they bandaged it up, but I knew it wouldnt stay on long, it took several days of keeping him from running around ect, before it really started to heal, thats a bad spot.

I have magnets from scrapped speakers and microwaves wits 3 foot strings threaded on them all over my work areas.
It makes it easy to find dropped stuff off a dirty floor as soon as you drop it.
