Picked an old vise for my old workbench

I went with this old through bolt vise after seeing the bench had 2 through bolts on it in the past. I knew I had one that I got last year at an auction and found it, I wish I knew who made this vise, all there is No. 7 on the side. It is a very well built vise and all I did to it was clean the screw and applied new grease and now I can open and close it with a feather it is that good. I will require a larger vise and when I have time over the winter I will give this Parker 66 the attention it needs before the bench is its new home. The bench is big enough for two vises and I think it NEEDS two.

Marty: nice to see you posting again. that bench cleaned up nicely. are you keeping both vises on the bench or just the one with the pipe jaws? looks even better than the other Parker you had sitting on it the last time i saw the bench.

how's your summer so far?

cheers

That's a beautiful bench and the vises look just right....very nice.

Was it you that posted a few pics of a huge hammer collection???? I remember the post stated something like..."How can you say no when they are a dollar each at an estate sale"...something like that. I liked those pics...when I look at my hammers, I think of those pics.

Drives, The other vise on the bench needs attention before I mount it where it sits now. Summer is going good, hope yours is also.

Yes that was me. I still buy hammers just not every one I see. It is still hard to pass them up at $1 each.

Marty: summer is great here and just moving by too fast. any chance you want to share a picture of your hammers that KZ mentioned? also what your vise family looks like or do you just have the 2 now?
