I found these Indestro Select sockets today at an estate sale and was wondering if these were part of a set and what else might have been part of the set? The 3/8" and 1/4" drive sockets don't appear to be missing any sizes. What I mean by that is that from large to small they don't have clear gaps/sockets missing. The Indestro-Super 2873 1/4" driver was on another table but I'm thinking it may have gone with the sockets. ??? There is also an Indestro Select 3/8" to 1/4" adapter. The 3/8" sockets are 3/4, 11/16, 5/8, 9/16, 1/2 and 3/8 with the 3/8 being 6-pt. The 1/4" sockets are 3/8", 11/32, 5/16, 9/32, 1/4, 7/32 and 3/16.

I can't say exactly what they cost me. I filled a Tupperware bowl with tools. The S-K Lectrolite wrenches were marked $12 by themselves. These sockets were all loose and got tossed in the bucket with other goodies which I'll post on the garage sale thread. That bowl of tools set me back $10.

Any details folks can give me on these would be much appreciated and I'd love to be able to complete this set. These are in outstanding condition IMO.

Thanks!
Mike

Look like part of a set of Indestro sockets I bought at my first Active Duty Station, 1971, Ft. Benning. They were 1/4 and 3/8 drive, came in a red blow molded case, sold by a hardware chain. Ace perhaps.

I've seen a few Indestro sets that typically come with a 3/8ths ratchet, short extension and a spark plug socket along with the sockets and items that you have.

Horse, Bill, or Anyone,
Any idea what the 3/8" ratchet for this set looked like? Be that much better if someone has a pic(s).

Update: Found a pic of a 3/8" Indestro ratchet on the ToolArchives site. Nice looking ratchet. Here's a link. I wonder if that would have been the ratchet for these sockets?

Thanks!
Mike

Just found this pic on ebay of a nice socket set. It looks pretty much like the style of sockets I've got. What a nice set!

The 3/8 ratchet in my set may have been like that, I think I remember both 3 and 6 inch extensions and a U-joint and perhaps a breaker bar.
