picked this up an i love it

bought this at a flee market in town form an old guy with a bunch of good stuff for $12 and i love it ratchets so smooth. it a proto 5249 and i allready throught some grease in it and cleed it up a bit

Those Protos and the re-badged versions are all about the smoothest ratchets you can find. I have a Fleet version.

Those are solid ratchets.

I have the 5249 3/8" that was my father-in-laws' and the 5449 1/2" that was my grandfathers'.

In the catagory of course tooth ratchets, I truly believe that Proto and Cornwell are the best. They are the ones that I really get excited about buying in a pawnshop or garage sale. If it weren't for the fact that the automotive industry is requiring fine tooth ratchets, i'd use a Proto everyday.
