6 months or so I bought this pallet jack on an online auction. Went to pick it up and it is battery powered.

Charged it up and it didn't work. I checked the little fuse, it looked completely fine. put it back in, still no working. It is an Italian made piece that belonged to Boeing. I was thinking it was the relay. looked online for a bit for the part. No Luck. So I pulled it out yesterday and started looking at it again, testing wires, switch etc. Turns out the fuse was bad and it works great!!!

That's a sweet score for $60. From the look of it it's going to be real handy in any shop.

Big time SCORE on that pallet jack !!

Your gamble paid off as the fix was minor . . . . . you'll find a thousand uses for that thing. Likely will get you going to extreme of Finding Things you want to palletize, so you can haul it around with your new cool pallet jack !! ;)

It's nearly color of Snap On green . . . . maybe a full re-paint is in order to get the body in gloss black, and fresh coat of SnapOn green for the color areas !! :D

Oh yeah . . . . You INDEED **** !!!! . .

More than once I've found bad fuses with an ohmmeter that looked just fine. Nice score.

Do you have to lift the pallets from the side? Seems it would rip the bottom boards off if used the regular way.

That is an interesting point. Perhaps it will work as a normal pallet jack at just raising the pallet up enough to use it.

That said, that would be darn handy for lifting up projects to work on instead of bending over.

I also tend to check fuses with a continuity tester.

Exactly what I was thinking. Build a low profile platform for it and use it to elevate a work area to a chair or standing level. Would also be handy for unloading the occasional tool box from the back of the truck

I plan on getting a stack of these.

I found some similar to these that nest together for storage for $5 a piece on Craigslist

Did you get it just for how cheap it is or do you actually need one?
If you don't really need it I would think about selling it since you said it's so pricey
I'm just going by if I happened to come across that same deal

What type of auction was it and how did you find out about it? I never find any cool auctions so I am jealous of your score.

When I bid on it i thought it was a regular pallet jack. It wasn't till i got it home that I realized it was a high lift. With the size of my shop I needed a pallet jack to move stuff around, But now that I have it it will be used a lot.

There is a auction house in the Seattle/ Tacoma area that has monthly online auctions. It is a ways out of my way to go but I have gotten some great stuff from there. The worst part is you have to have your item removed within 2 days from the end of the auction, which is usually Sunday, so I have to go midweek to pick up.

It's not really a pallet jack, it's more an order picker intended lifting open bottomed pallets or bins for stocking or retrieving items off of pallet racking.

I had a manual LiftRite model just like that I paid $40 for in new condition; a company bought it to use in their warehouse and figured out it wouldn't do regular pallets so it sat around for several years until they got tired of walking around it.

I thought it would be the cat's ***, too. It would lift as high as my pickup tailgate, I could move heavy projects around the shop and get them out of the way, oh, I had great plans.

But the truth was it was huge and bulky and weighed a ton. It steered like the Queen Mary, and I finally said the hell with it and sold it for 8 times what I paid for it.

I like these pallets better than wood ones. They are pretty sturdy and they are light.
