Picked up a KRL722 on Craigslist today!

Hello all,

Very excited and thought I'd share. I picked up a new to me krl722 locally. It is definately used but doesn't seem abused. A few scratched and chips here and there, but I definately didn't pay new price so that is ok with me!

I will update with pics when I get it in place and loaded up with my tools. FYI, this is for home use as I am not a mechanic.

I welcome any comments or suggestions on care or maintenance.

It's a snap on steel top with Rhyno liner spayed over it...

Not a bad price, but not a "****" price either...I suppose since it has the top its actually not bad..
Nice box tho...you'll love it. I like my 722...I use the word "like" and not love cause I wish it were a 7022...I only put new in box tools in my 722 in hopes of eventually selling it to get a Macsimizer or 7022/1022...

True story...I live in a similar area, and its why I feel & believe the best/cheapest places to buy boxes is right off the truck. Both of the KRL's I've purchased have been new, right off the truck, delivered to my door (and yes, I paid less then the OP for my new 722).

I have been looking for 4 months. I search the internet from craigslist to ebay and the average asking price ranges from 2000 - 5000. The 2000 range does not have a steel or rhino lined top.

I have found a couple of boxes and got them down to $1600 but they did NOT have the steel tops. Typically they are asking $3000 or more with a top.

The box is in good overall condition, both keys, and rhino lined top, so I went for it.

I thought it was a fair price especially compared to what is available in my area.

There are guys asking 2500 - 3500 for a nice KRA around here, so I jumped on this when I had the opportunity.

Just like anything it is only worth what someone is willing to pay, I was willing to pay $1600!

^ ^ ^ That's a good buy you've made OP. Agree that most on CL want $3,000 and quote the $6K "original price" as justification. Lowest I've seen on CL was $1,400 but looked like a scam.

I'd say $1,600 is great price for lifetime toolbox like KRL722. Nice buy.

Yeah, I would have popped $1600 on that in a heartbeat, and I already have a 722 myself.

That might not be a full, "you ****", but it's at least a, "whoa, dude!"

I have started filling up my KRL722. There is a new set of wrenches still in plastic and screwdrivers that haven't been used yet.
