Picked up a machinist vise, ID it?

I can't find markings on it anywhere. I picked it up at a warehouse liquidation, hidden in a corner. It functions as it should, just a little dirty still. I've wiped off most surfaces that a manufacturers marking would be, and have yet to find any identifying marks. Does anyone recognize what I have here?

What you have there is an older milling machine vise. Search (image) out Bridgport vise and you'll see a lot with the BP name on them. You have one in a similar style.

There were many, many, generic, un-named milling vises offered back in the day. There were also many "machine specific", such as Bridgeport, Cincinnati, etc. Then there were quite a few Brown & Sharpe vises that were unmarked. It can be hard to pin them down to specific maker.

Flip: how heavy is it? with the round tale it looks like a Bridgeport, but i'm a little fuzzy on machinist vises so posting so i can maybe see what you find out.

Rite: i have your Avatar sitting on a shelf in storage and it's a beast. Vandermans were one of the better (and more expensive) vises made in the late 1800's and early 1900's. do you own one and which #?
