I've been needing to replace my generic Taiwan drill press for a while and I've been watching for a sweet deal on a causing or powermatic with variable speed. But I saw this beefy guy on auction and figured it was worth a try for $250.

I had never heard of Arboga Maskiner but apparently they are pretty tough. It's made in Sweden and is all gear drive so I have high hopes. If it even turns on, I'll let you guys know

If anyone knows where I can get a manual that would be appreciated

Very nice, the typical 4 speed gear box with 2 speed motor and its got a power feed. High quality drill, a good one of those might fetch 2K here.

Arboga makes a very high quality drill. You got a screaming deal.

Once you go gear head, you’ll never want to go belt drive again.

Thanks for the replies, and the link!
When I first wired it up and bumped the switch it had a terrible squeal from an upper bearing, so I thought it would be a rebuild project. But when I put the drain plug and some oil in the gearbox it quieted right down. Not sure who took that out haha. I had some 7/8" holes to drill and it loved every second of it. It's a monster, and I'm excited about having reverse too

That's a great find! Those machines are highly sought after and would cost many times more here.

I have a model GM 3512 in my farm shop. I was in the right place at the right time and have less than $100 in mine.
I was already setup with 3 phase and have found it to be a great machine.

I am wondering if the model numbers mean anything, will you post some pictures of your 3512? I am guessing the 35 means 35mm max recommended capacity, but not sure about the second 2 digits
