Picked up a few things over the weekend from a machine shop going out of business.

First and foremost I got a 3 foot by 6 foot by 6" thick precision ground cast iron surface plate on a fabricated metal stand. this thing was a ***** to get on and off the trailer. It has to weigh a couple thou. The guy said it was just reground and it looks like it... got it set up in the garage, and leveled with the leveling screws. Its nice to be able to put the digital level anywhere on the work surface and have it always read 0.0 :D.. $800

Bunch of vintage wrenches. mostly Williams, a couple of Billings and a few others. All USA made, of course. Some of the old ones look like they've never been used. $20 for all of those.

Facom welding clamp: $6

Bunch of USA made C-clamps $20

(not pictured) bunch of material... 20 foot stick of 2x2x3/16 square tube, 1x4 foot piece of 1/2" cold rolled plate, 20 foot piece of 6"x3/16" cold rolled and a few other misc pieces: $40

I'll be going back for more material soon.

What do you guys think?

Nice buy!! Don't know enough about the table to comment, but probably a YOU **** deal. Great buy on the us made clamps. They can be quite pricey.

Living North in Libertyville, there is alot of Small Businesses out that way. Should be some good "Gets". Not too long ago we were pulling all of our equipment out of SOLAR.
Nice Finds!
Drop a note is you run into others...I'll do the same.

That table is a BEAST! Is the channel in front there so you can fit a clamp on the edge or something?

its for clamping, or extending the work surface. I have some pieces that slide into the slots so larger items can go on the table.

I got it because I wanted a flat surface that won't ever warp. I got sick of welding up a tubing assembly on my work bench, only to put it into surface to find out it's not level (when it lays totally flat on the bench)

Attention *****. :lol_hitti Nice stuff by the way.

isn't that what 95% of the posts on here are all about?:lol_hitti

Here are a few pics with everything finished.

Work table:

Installed a couple of electrical outlets and compressed air drops (one on each side is dry air, the other is oiled)

Found a home for all the clamps.

And some of the wrenches.. I won't use these much, but I just love the old single ended wrenches, and I had the space in this drawer....

And the rest of the wrenches go in one of the drawer cabinets with the other odds & ends wrenches (this drawer is for the old US Made stuff only--not to be cut up)
