Answered an ad on CL for an old Craftsman sander. Not sure of the age, the model # doesn't show up in my searches so far. Runs and tracks well, nice original stand also.

Post the model number, maybe someone can help. It looks like a newer model, like 70's or so. I have an older one with chrome adjuster knobs but I'm missing the top pole mount that the base attaches to, I have the stand jury rigged with a wood plate for now.

The model # is 113.22541 and the tag also states "Simpson Sears Limited" which I believe means that it was originally sold in Canada. That may be the problem with identification.

I was thinking your tracking knob was plastic, I'm looking at the pic on my cell phone and my eyes are going bad, forgive me. Is it plastic or pot metal? That may be older than I was thinking.
You are probably correct about the trouble finding that model due to being made in Canada.

I'll have to double check the knob. I don't think it's plastic. Thanks for the link, Mike.
