Lovely anvil!
What is the serial number on the front foot?
What did that go for at the auction? I was going to go.... ;-)
The 220# Bullock anvil was most likely Arm & Hammer made, most are for H.Channon Hardware Co made by Columbus Anvil & Forging Co.

Your dead on about the Bullock. I have the Anvils in America book and it has a TON of information in it. Crazy that you could write a huge book about a hunk of metal.

LXCam- yes, when it comes to these things, I'm a bit of a hoarder. And if I ever need to drop one on a Roadrunner, I'll have plenty of choices.

Crazy that you could write a huge book about a hunk of metal.

There's been so much more learned since Mr.Postman printed that book with the explosion of info availability and sharing of information on the internet. A substantial update could be done.
