Picking up a toolbox

I have $600 in Home Depot gift cards from the Menards 11% match, and I believe I've decided on picking up the Husky 56" tool box.

I can unload a pallet with my tractor, so I am thinking about having them put it on a pallet if it isn't already so I can pick it up from the side, and then dropping it in my truck and strapping it down. They would need to wrap it so the drawers didn't come open.

Is this the best way to transport these? Another option would be to rent a trailer, but barring a flatbed trailer I still have the same issue of it having to be unloaded from the end. Or renting the HD flatbed pickup, where I could unload it from the side.

They usually come in boxes strapped to pallets unless you get a demo model. The fork driver should be able to just set the pallet in your truck without having to worry about securing any drawers.

Oh, never mind... reading the comments it sounds like they fit side by side in a 5.5' box with no problem. I have a longbox and so I'll just do it that way, and then slide them onto the forks.

the larger boxes usually come to them boxed on a pallet, so see if they can leave it on the pallet, you can pull the cardboard to inspect for damage then reinstall

I'll take a look when I get there. The problem is if it's on a pallet it is probably made to be picked up from the short end, which means it wouldn't able to be picked up from the side in the bed.

Picked up the Milwaukee 46" toolbox saturday, they had a couple guys load it for me without a pallet. We just slid it off onto a bunch of cardboard and styrofoam when we got it back home.

Yes, you can flip/tip it on/off by hand. Lay it on its back.
