How do I get it home? My wife has an Infiniti QX60, will it fit in that? Should i rent a Uhaul for an hour?

I fit it in the back of my 2003 outback. I had to take the 4x4 legs for the fork lift/pallet jack forks off and lift it in with a table lift and pull it out with a motorcycle jack.. but it fit, with less than a centimeter of space on each side, and i was able to shut the rear hatch.

If you can afford to do a truck.. its probably easier.

If the rear seats come out or fold flat in the infinity it would probably fit. Worst case you may have to unbox it at the store. They've got cheap shipping blankets you can buy there to protect the interior.

the seats do fold flat, I think I may just rent the truck. That way I don't have to worry about getting it out by myself at home.

Thanks for the advice

Just drop the tailgate, get a rolling start going backwards, and slam on the brakes when it's close...:lol_hitti

You don't have a neighbor to help? You might be upset if it gets dented or canted if you drop it.

I work at a body shop so i went with our flatbed to get it, quite overkill for that thing but whatever. Then we brought it into the shop with the hilo. The box is light enough to load and unload into a pickup with a buddy or two. My dad and i lifted the box off the pallet and my girlfriend kicked the pallet out from under it and we set it back on the floor.

Got mine home in the back of a Kia Sorrento, no issues. I did remove the cheesy shipping pallet, and bought a moving blanket. Unloaded by myself. Check the mounting hardware on the casters. Some of mine were loose and 2 bolt holes were stripped.

I got mine home (used so no crating) in a mini van with fold down seats. I loaded and unloaded by myself. To reduce weight I took off the casters and 3 of the bottom most drawers. Then used a sawhorse and a few blankets to have a pivot point to ensure nothing got harmed. I would rent a truck, especially if it is still in the crate.

You can rent a work van at home depot for ~$20/hr+gas.

Take it out of the box, put the handle on, and tie a rope from the handle to your car. You should have no problem towing it home.:dunno:

Stop at home depot and buy a sheet of drywall, rent their truck, pickup toolbox.
Have harbor freight set the box on its back side. Get home and slide it off as you tilt it up.
Its a one man job. Return the drywall and the truck.

I think you can rent a truck from Home Depot for like $20/hr. I've never done it, but I see them everywhere.

Edit: ^beat me to it^

I got mine home in a Subaru outback. Your vehicle looks similar in size. I was able to unload it by myself.

They are pretty easy to unload by yourself, as long as the truck bed isn't super high. It's all worth it once you get it set up and stand back to take a look with a beer in hand!

They loaded it for me in the bed of the pickup. Once I got it home I made sure to gently lay it on its back side and gently slid it off the bed/tailgate.

They forklifted mine in back of my Ranger and just lowered one edge to the floor while other edge in truck then lower other end to the floor. The biggest PIA part was getting it off pallet once it was on floor..

Don't use drywall. Use an 8'x4' sheet of 1/2" plywood.

The top is 14 gauge steel, I just laid 2x6 scrap on top of the boxes and put the steel top on it for now until I have time to build by full steel frame! We do jetski parts and salvage and are coming into our busy season so it might be a project for next winter

I was at HF today and looked at the "44" inch chest. I wanted to check the height to make sure it fit under my adjustable bench. So I grabbed one of their tape measures and checked the height at 39 1/2 inches. But to my surprise I checked the width and it is 42 inches not 44 inches. I thought maybe they measure handle to handle, but each handle is 2 inches which would make 46 inches. So everyone who has bought one of these chests, are yours 42" or 44" wide?

Tool box
42" wide
18" deep
33 1/2" tall w/out casters
39 1/2" tall with casters

Tool box with side box
58 1/4" wide when attached to tool box
17 1/4" wide on its own

Casters add 6" of height

I don't know why they call it 44"... Kinda strange.

I just picked up 4 of the 44" boxes in my Mustang!

Well I was towing a 5' x 8' trailer. Even so, I had 1500# including the trailer! That's 500# more than the towing capacity of my '08 Bullitt!! All got home safely. I'll know for sure after I open the boxes.
By the way, I paid $339 per box and a free membership to the inside track club..
