Picnic Table finish...

When we built our home in 2015, one of the neighbors gifted my wife a smallish (4 person) picnic table, my wife finished it with some type of stain she got cheap, it was a horrible color. I powerwashed it last week and took the finish off it, it appears that the only pressure treated wood is the legs and it sits on concrete.

Without spending a fortune, what can I use to make it look better? My wife suggested just painting it...

How about one of those deck over paints? The thick solid color stuff you use on old decks. Might preserve the wood better.
