Picquic Bits Made in Taiwan?!!!

So I ordered 2 new Picquic SixPac Plus drivers and 2 Teeny Turners. I bought an X-7 (SixPac Plus?) a few months ago and liked it, so I figured I should buy a few extra to keep around.

The handles are still made in Canada, but the bits are now made in Taiwan. There's a huge sticker over where it used to say "made in Canada" on the packaging.

I'm pretty disappointed, but I suppose I should try using the drivers with imported bits for a while before judging them too harshly.

I can get the old Canadian made bits locally. Also it seems every Canadian tool I see for sale now has taiwanese content.

Quality? I've had many more bad experiences with import screwdriver bits than I've had good ones.

I'd guess because it was perceived as a slight against the quality of Canadian made tools. Hopefully that wasn't your intent.

I have a few PicQuicks and they're by far the toughest screwdrivers I have ever owned. The bits (canadian made ones) don't wear out easily and if you use it right, it's impossible for a bit to go missing. great design. I can't speak to the quality of the Taiwanese made bits (from my experience with other taiwan made bits they'll be of inferior quality to the Canadian made ones) but this is just another sign of the times of North American companies outsourcing and sacrificing quality and integrity for profits. May have to go out and see if I can find some NA made replacement bits for my PicQuics just in case

Don't know what happened, maybe someone reported the comment? It didn't seem offensive to me.

I see your point, but some imports are better than others. I don't know of any company that shifts production from North America or Europe for better quality - it's always a cost-cutting measure.
