Picture Labels for Drawers

A long time ago I purchased some picture labels from Sears for my tool chest. These were stick-on. They've worn over the years and I can't find them any more. I've tried looking around the net for pictures of tools that I could print out and stick to the drawers but no luck. I've seen the magnetic ones by zCalz that are listed on Ebay, but not crazy about them. The pictures aren't that clear. I looking for just a simple clear label with a picture, for example a screwdriver. For whatever reason my brain can process a picture easier and quicker than a written label.

Thanks,
Ed

It may be difficult to find it with a clear background, but with a (color?) printer you could easily get some labels and make your own with images that work for you.
I work with people with varying disabilities, and it's a very helpful thing. You would probably want to use water-resistant ink or labels(costs a little more), or just cover it w/ packing tape.

For that matter, you can buy sheets of magnetic vinyl, and apply the labels to that, then cut apart.

I'm not sure, but I think some of the higher-end P-Touch labelers will let you insert your own images. This would let you use the (more expensive) industrial labels, which are self-adhesive. This would probably be a lot hassle to set up, but would give you the best of all the choices if it worked.

What about printing pictures off on photo paper and cover the pics with some shipping tape. The only thing is that if you ever want to remove them, the shipping tape may be a ***** kitty to get off.

If you want them to be easily moved from drawer to drawer, buy some flat magnetic stock on a roll -- this is the stuff sign shops use to make magnetic signs for the doors of trucks, etc.

You can put the photos onto the magnetic stock (maybe with spray adhesive or clear tape) and then cut them out with an x-acto knife. Then you've got what other posters have mentioned above, but they're magnets that can be moved around or replaced as needed.

I'm a graphic designer, so I'd probably draw up a little "icon" for a screwdriver and a ratchet and a hammer etc...but that's just me!

Avery labels from WalMart and any office store will have many sizes of stickers and free software to make your own stickers. Very easy to use.
