Just a question about the pictures in posts. Some posts I see pictures and others all I get is an empty box titled "Attached Thumbnails" Do I have something set wrong somewhere?

The attachements are just that. They are attached here to the server database and show as thumbnails (by a prescribed setting in the Administrator's control panel). You click, then you open that link (to the pic on the forum's server).
The pictures that show up without a referenced attachment are a link to the picture that is hosted on the poster's choice of an image server host, many places being a free service. If you click the quote button of said poster, you can see the server site (link to the pic) that they are using.
You are doing nothing incorrectly.
