pier and beam insulation/venting help

I'm quite new to this forum, but I'm extremely excited about all the knowledge that is available from the users of it. I've been eying a couple builds (@platinum overcast and @lupinsea) and really appreciate the design, effort and detail they have put into their builds and threads.

I'm currently in the middle of a project of my own and this is where I need guidance and direction. I'm building a pier and beam shed/studio - 10'x20'. There are 4 piers all spaced 10' from each other(square) and I have 2 - 6" x 20' steel h-beams spanning across the piers and cantilevering them 5' on each of the lengths. Then I have 2 - 6" x 10' h-beams connecting the 20'-ers at the ends.
The structure is an average of 5" off the ground other than where it is touching the piers of course.

...that being said - my question is about how to properly insulate and vent(if needed) the flooring when I'm not utilizing a skirt around the perimeter. The space will have an A/C and heater (probably 7000-9000 BTUs) and I want to make sure I'm keeping the moisture away.
(btw - the roof is already vented - thanks @lupinsea for the calculation)

I've attached pictures of my joists and a view from underneath.

If anyone has information on this matter it will be greatly appreciated....also if anyone has questions please don't hesitate to ask and I can give the data to help accommodated an idea for this application.

thanks in advance,
heath

now I'm trying to figure out how I can forgo the insulation and venting by leaving it open. in doing so I will still need some sort of insulation and I think I can solve that by putting down some 1/2" R-3 foam board right on top of the joists then a vapor barrier and finally the subflooring . Does this sound right?

What you have not explained is what is on the outside.....

My concern would be water from rain.....

At a min, you need vents to prevent moisture from building up.....assuming you put in some type of skirt.....if not skirt....just leave it open...

I would suggest painting those steel beams....otherwise they will rust....

thanks ddawg for the response.
the structure will be water resistant as a normal building should be. (hopefully =) )
I will not be adding a skirt. so that answers the question.

as for the steel beams - I've coated them with a poly.

thanks again
