Was watching a ScannerDanner YouTube video and noticed him using one. Looks like it can be very handy in certain situations. Being that I'm just a weekend warrior, I've never seen one, so hopefully this might open up someone else's eyes.

I just found his channel through ETCG's channel. He's providing a wealth of knowledge if you're smart enough to adapt what he's providing.

I know some guys get picky about putting holes in wiring, but in this case, it was about his only choice to probe it that way.

A dab of liquid electric tape takes care of the pin hole.

I don't think it a good idea for general practice to do that. You always will introduce moister into the system even if you seal it after words.

Practically zero, it's just another one of the BS old wives tales perpetuated in the automotive industry... like the one that brake rotors stored vertically will warp, that one always makes me ROFL

why wouldn't brake rotor store horizontally warp too then? lol, do they weigh nothing on their sides?

I use the Pomona probes, I work on roadside assistance and they are great for bypassing bad wiring/defeating dead locked vehicles with the keys inside

The hole is tiny and superglue seals it effectively

I have a set of the ones he linked you to, I'm pretty fond of them. We used to have a shop set of another variety, the hook was metal and had the piercing pin in it. They didn't last very well, and the exposed end of the hook always made me paranoid it was going to short out.
