Pilot Light Going Out

My pilot light keeps going out every few weeks. The hot water heater has been in the same place since the house has been built. The current water heater is several years old and has not exhibited any problems, but over the last few months the pilot light has been going out every few weeks.

Any ideas? Maybe the pilot light burner and thermocouple need replacement?

Is this one of those stupid FVIR water heaters? If so it may need a good cleaning around the air intakes.

First thing to do is change the thermocouple. sounds like yours is having intermittent connection issues. you can get one at any home improvement store or neighborhood hardware/appliance store for about 10 bux.
