Pinch off pliers

Is there a better or worse style of pinch off pliers out there? I need to do a thermostat job on the old Scrambler and I don’t want to deal with dumping a bunch of coolant on the garage floor if I don’t have to. It seems that all the ones out there either the Lang pliers style or the plastic with a loop ones, and I’m not sure if there is enough difference between them all to matter or not.

I keep a few of those vice grip style hobo freight ones in my truck, can really put it to a hose with those. Plus being all metal I can leave them on equipment for a while if I have too.

Hobo Freight ! Now that is funny. But it took a minute to register with me.

6LN or 8LN Vise-Grips with a piece of neoprene fuel line hose over the jaws.

The Lang ones are great; I have a set of 3? different sizes. I also have a pair of generic "vise grip" style, maybe from HF, that are also great.

Lang or blue point/cornwell rebrand depending on the angle needed

The orange handled lang ones are are probably the best and sold under many brands but, I also like the nylon ones sold by many people too.

To me, I'd rather partially drain coolant with a fluid extractor first for less mess even with the pliers.

You can get them from a bunch of different brand from Mityvac and others. Pneumatic powered or manual.
