Pinch Weld Floor Jack Adapters

What's the first step in finding the correct adapter?

I figure I'm eventually going to have to get a pinch weld adapter for getting the car up high enough to drop the trans out the bottom. The lowest lifting point gets the car up the highest, correct?

Should I post pictures of the pinch welds? Would that help?

I think I would use jackstands on the pinch weld area if you are going to do such a project..

So then I would need pinch weld adapters for the jack stands?

I took a chunk of 4 x 6 and ran my circular saw blade don the middle of one of the fat sides about 4 or 5 time. Works great with my floor jack !

Amazon sells the adapters, or you can make some by cutting a groove into a hockey puck.

Is there a recommended square option? I've got one of the Daytona jacks and would love to be able to lift by the pinch welds (right now I'm opting for the control arms, but it's not always easy to get to/ideal for the situation)

I've got some square rubber pinch weld blocks some where, and I've got the round rubber adapter rjindael posted, but haven't had to use them.

by Grand Rapids Industrial Products (GRIP), which replaced the round metal saddle in an OTC Stinger floor jack. I HAVE used it with fantastic results when jacking up an '00 Mustang to replace the clutch.

I've never used an adapter or seen anyone else use one. They look like they may split or slip. Anyone used one enough to confirm they are safe? Would be nice to have a car without chewed up pinch welds.

Hockey puck with groove work good,don't use one and you will see what a chewed up pinch weld looks like.
