pinning floor into grade beam

i have a 24"x8" grade beam on 30' piles with no key way. I plan on doweling 15m rebar into the beam so the floor ties into the grade beam

i also have 3 piles in the middle of the floor with 5'x5' caps for the floor to sit on

does this sound like a viable option for a structural slab or should i bolt on angle iron onto the grade beam instead

I would think you want the slab to float on the grade beam. Wouldn't the slab have a better chance of cracking if it was pinned? I know on a steel building the floor will have a better chance of cracking at the spot the piers tie into the slab.

If your constructing a true structural slab i.e. it is supported by structural elements rather than the subgrade, the details will be very different from a typical slab on grade.

For example, you wouldn't want to pin a typical slab on grade to your grade beam but you need something to support the perimeter of a structural slab. A concrete shelf on your grade beam would probably be the best solution because it allows the slab to move decreasing the possibility of shrinkage cracks. A steel angle would also work but would be pretty costly.

Your slab is presumably significantly thicker than 4" and is more heavily reinforced. I would think something like this would be professionally engineered.
