I'm doing some pipe rail balcony fancing over my garage. A while ago I saw a clam-shell like tool that you clamped over the pipe. The clamp-shell had the fish-mouth cut on it, so you traced around the tool with your plasma cutter to form the fish-mouth on your work piece. There were different templates for common cuts, T's, and 90's. When I went back to the welding shop for some of these tools, they didn't have any and the guy there never heard of them.
I've looked on the web and found expensive fixtures with hole saws and even large end mills - but I already HAVE the expensive plasma cutter. Or plastic forms to wrap around the pipe and trace with my pen...
Anybody seen the clamp-shell template do-hickeys?
