Pipe ****** fitting question

ok my problem is this iam trying to connect a air regulator to a compressor.
one end of the Metal Hose is connected to the air compressor the other end to the air regulator as i place a pipe ****** between the air regulator and the copper pipe thread one side goes in but the other does not go in unless i do that side first but then the Metal Hose will spin also. is there a fiting that i can use that will work with this set up what is it called

a union are you sure about that i been looking at some pictures and it doesnt look like they will work
is this what you guys are talking about i can use this to connect the air regulator to the copper but then the hose will twist when i try to connected it to the air regulator
