I saw something similar on another site.

I need to bury 100' of water line, so I built this to attach to a ripper shank.
IMG_7294.jpg

The ripper shank was centered onto a section of 1/4" X 2.5" X 2.5" angle iron.
I cut out 2 sets of tabs, then welded and driller holes to secure the angle iron to the shank.

I welded a foot to the lower bottom of the upright.
A three foot section of 2" PVC and a sweeping 90° conduit was positioned onto the angle iron.

I fabricated 3 sets of retaining tabs.

The tabs were welded to the angle iron, then drilled holes for hardware.

All tabs welded and pipe was secured.

Prepped the surface, then applied 2-coats of etching primer.

After 3-beers drying time, the first coat of red paint was applied.

NOTE:
Before the primer and paint was applied, the leading end of the PVC (where the water line will enter) was heated and opened a bit using a funnel.

Another coat of red went on at daybreak today.

After 1-hour of drying, the pipe layer was attached it to the ripper shank.

The water line is PEX and will be buried 12" DEEP. I hope it all works okay.

I like it.
If I were using it I would discover numerous wires & pipes I either forgot about or was enlightened to discover them.

Mowed the front yard. Did some pruning of rose and blueberry bushes. Poop patrol of backyard. Washed down most of the shed, a couple of areas were blocked by things and I did not have time to move everything.

Very cool. What are you going to pull it with?
Yanmar YM330.

Sorry, I didn't get a video.
Had to play with the center link to get the correct angle of the shank. I ran two passes of the shank without the pipe-laying attachment, to loosen the ground. The water line (PEX) is now set in the ground about 8" deep.

Below is a photo of the start of the burial. My son operated the tractor and I walked beside it to make sure the line was fed properly.

I've got another 100' of PEX to bury. Before I do, I'll fabricate a wider shank tooth for a wider (2.5") trench.
